Twelve Oakland Park residents are the latest graduates of the City’s Local Government Academy (LGA). The LGA is a free, ten-week program that teaches participants about City operations.
Members of the LGA got an in-depth look into different City departments each week, including the Broward Sheriff's Office, Fire Rescue, Parks and Leisure Services, Public Works, Engineering and Building Services, Community and Economic Development, Library and Cultural Services, and more. Many past LGA graduates have gone on to serve on the City Commission and Advisory Boards.
The 2023 LGA took place on Thursday evenings from mid-September through November 30th, with graduation on December 5th at Hugh’s Catering. Congratulations to the LGA graduates:
