Pursuant to Florida Statutes Chapter 119, municipal records are open for personal inspection and copying by any person. Providing access to public records is a duty of each agency. Chapter 257.36 (5)(a) requires the designation of a Records Management Liaison Officer. The City Clerk is designated as the Records Management Liaison Officer for the City of Oakland Park and is the central point of contact for public records requests.
The City Clerk’s Office will acknowledge receipt of a request within one day and advise the requestor a cost estimate, if any, for fulfillment of the request.
