The City of Oakland Park was selected as the first-place winner in the under 50,000 population category for the 2026 National League of Cities City Cultural Diversity Awards.
Oakland Park earned the honor for its Special Events Arts & Culture Program, recognized as a strong example of collaboration and community partnership.
First-place award recipients were announced in person during the breakfast at the National League of Cities’ Congressional City Conference on Tuesday, March 17. Oakland Park was one of four communities selected nationwide for this year’s awards.
This national recognition highlights Oakland Park’s commitment to fostering meaningful community connections through innovative, community-centered programming that brings people together and strengthens a sense of belonging.
The National League of Cities created the award to honor municipalities that demonstrate leadership through creative, effective programs that promote inclusion and community engagement.
