  1. Community Rating System Program for Public Information (PPI) Community Meeting

    November 15, 2019, 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM @ Emergency Operations Center

About the Program for Public Information Committee The City of Oakland Park participates in the Community Rating System (CRS), a national program developed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) that recognizes and encourages community floodplain management activities resulting in discounted rates for flood insurance customers. The CRS uses a Class rating system (point system) that is similar to fire insurance rating to determine the flood insurance premium reductions for residents. The City can obtain additional points to improve its CRS rating and potentially lower Oakland Park property owners’ flood insurance premiums by utilizing a Program for Public Information (PPI) Committee pursuant to the requirements of National Flood Insurance Program. The purpose of the PPI is to provide input and recommendations to the City Commission for suggested outreach as part of the process.
