Congratulations to Sprouts Farmers Market at 700 East Oakland Park Boulevard for winning a POP (Proud Oakland Park) Star Award!
The City Commission presented Sprouts District Manager Jared Hornyak and Store Manager Kevin Waller (pictured here) with the POP Star Award at the June 21st Commission Meeting for creating a modern grocery store that transformed part of the former Kmart site and the surrounding area.
The POP program encourages owners to take pride in their property and support ongoing efforts to beautify and improve our community. POP Star Award winners alternate between private residences and commercial properties or businesses that have made a special effort to enhance their property through façade improvements, landscaping, remodeling, or reconstruction projects.
Members of the City’s Beautification Advisory Board review award nominations and select property owners to be recognized at a Commission Meeting. The Beautification Board also supports initiatives to enhance local landscaping and increase Oakland Park's green canopy by volunteering at tree giveaways, including the giveaway in April, where they helped City staff distribute 568 free trees and shrubs to more than 140 residents and local business owners.
To nominate your home or business for the POP Star Award, please call Beautification Advisory Board Liaison Lyzabeth Fiore at 954-630-4420.
