The Cities of Oakland Park and Wilton Manors have partnered to create a Joint Climate Action Plan that will address and improve infrastructure and resilience into the next decade.
There are two overarching goals of the Plan:
◦Mitigate the effects of climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 1% each year through the year 2028.
◦Increase resilience of our communities while
minimizing impacts to efficiency and cost-effective
business operations.
Read the September 2018 Op-Ed authored by Oakland Park Mayor Tim Lonergan and Wilton Manors Mayor Gary Resnick and published in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, about why it makes sense to work on resilience issues on a regional basis.
