Short-Term Rentals
The City Commission adopted rules for Short-Term Rentals in 2018. These regulations deal specifically with short-term vacation rentals and encourage them to be safe and well-maintained. In the City of Oakland Park, a Short-Term Rental is defined as:
- A “Transient Public Lodging Establishment” which means any unit, group of units, dwelling, building, or group of building within a single complex of building which is rented to guests more than three times in a calendar year for periods of less than 30 days or 1 calendar month, whichever is less, or which is advertised or held out to the public as a place regularly rented to guests.
- A Vacation Rental as defined under City Ordinance, as any transient public lodging establishment that does not have on-site management, which is located in the single family residential dwelling zoning district in the City of Oakland Park.
