Recycling

Recycle Right Banner March 2019
Oakland Park proudly promotes recycling. Weekly curbside recycling is provided for all solid waste customers. The City's recycling processor has provided the following flyers to help remind everyone to "Recycle Often, Recycle Right" and "Most Common Contaminants." Placing recyclables in a plastic bag can contaminate the entire load -- always empty recyclables directly into your cart.

Recycling Benefits

Participation in the program reduces consumption of our resources and improves the environment. Each residential unit paying the annual assessment for solid waste collection receive a blue 65-gallon roll cart for recyclable collection. Collection days are the same for recyclables. Please place carts at the curb 3 feet from obstructions such as mailboxes, light poles, fences, autos and solid waste carts.
To participate in recycling, please call the Solid Waste office at  954-630-4452, to request recycle carts.

Recycle Right

Everyone can play a part in recycling, and your part is to "Recycle Right." If items are not recycled correctly, they cannot be used again. Placing unacceptable items in recycling carts can ruin an entire load, resulting in the load being sent to the landfill. To ensure your efforts and good intentions are productive, please remember to "Recycle Right."
