Fire Hydrant Maintenance

Fire Hydrant Flushing.jpg

The fire hydrant maintenance program entails opening and closing each fire hydrant to insure mechanical integrity as well as pressure and flow capability. The hydrants will also be painted.

Employees of HydroMaxUSA will be in marked vehicles and carry company identification; they work between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Their trucks are equipped with strobe lights, traffic arrows and cones for maintenance of traffic during their operation.

The flowing of water for this exercise is essential to better assure the reliability of our hydrant and water distribution network when needed for fire-fighting and other public safety needs.

Questions can be directed to the Public Works Operations Center at 954-630-4430.
