Included in the spring tree selection will be a wide variety of trees and shrubs, as well as native slash pines. Small (3-gallon), medium (5-gallon) and larger (7-gallon) sizes will be available to choose from. Information will be shared regarding proper placement and planting of your selected trees, as well as watering and maintenance tips.
Each City residence or business owner (proof required) will be allowed up to 3 free trees. The selection includes: Slash Pine, Bulnesia (Verawood), Orange Geiger, Dahoon Holly, Pink Tabebuia, Simpson’s Stopper, Silver Buttonwood and Fire Bush and Thatch Palm. Plan to arrive early to ensure the best selection – the supply of free trees usually runs out by 11 a.m.
In order to ensure that this opportunity can be enjoyed by all of our residents, Oakland Park has created a Tree Assistance Program through the city’s Community Volunteer Corps to aid residents who require special assistance in the delivery and planting of trees.

Studies have shown that the greenery and shade provide a sense of serenity and wellbeing. We invite property and business owners to take part in our ongoing efforts “greening” our City.
