Public Works/Solid Waste
Duties: The purpose of Development Review Committee (DRC) is for various City departments to complete a technical review of proposed developments and provide written comments for the applicant.

Membership: The School Advisory Board consists of 7 voting members appointed as follows: 1 member appointed by each member of the City Commission; 1 member appointed by the City Manager; 1 member appointed by the board.
Qualifications: Applicant must be a resident of the City of Oakland Park and registered voter of Broward County. No member shall be an employee of the Broward School Board.
Duties: To advise the City Commission on all issues relating to educational matters which will impact the quality of education for City residents, or which will impact education facilities located within the City. Actively engage in the formulation of a community partnership so as to insure that all community interests regarding education are identified.
Authority: The authority of the School Advisory Board is outlined in Ordinance Section 9-2T1.

Members: The Beautification Advisory Board membership consists of 7 voting members appointed by the City Commission, and 3 non-voting members. Members serve terms of 3 years.
Non-Voting Members: 1 representative from the City Manager's Office; 1 representative from the Public Works Department; 1 representative from the Code Enforcement Department.
Qualifications: Applicants must be a resident of the City of Oakland Park.
1. Investigate, study, and recommend plans to the City Commission as to improve the general health, sanitation, safety, and cleanliness of the City.
2. Encourage and recommend the placing, planting, and preservation of trees, flowers and shrubbery on public and private properties.
3. Review and make recommendations on all City landscape projects related to enhancing City parks, buildings, and rights of way when costs exceed $5,000.

Members: The Art and Culture Board has 7 voting members appointed by the City Commission, 4 of whom are residents. Members serve terms of 2 years.
Qualifications: Members will be knowledgeable in the field of public or private art, art education, architecture or community affairs, and chosen among the professional categories of: Architecture; Art Education; Landscape Architecture; Professional Artists; and Urban Planning
1. Act in an advisory capacity in matters pertaining to art and culture programs, including the development of art and culture programs and events for the City.
2. Review projects under section 24-56(H) "inclusion of public art for increased density," or section 24-269(G)(4) "additional public art," which includes art as a public amenity.

Young adults 18 and over. Come join us for a relaxing yoga class. Whether you're a beginner or have had past yoga experience, you will have fun exploring new poses and movements. This class is especially tailored to young adults (18 years and older) with ASD and/or learning differences. We welcome parents to join in if necessary to ensure the comfort of all students. The instructor is a Certified Yoga Teacher with 18 years experience practicing yoga in the Ft. Lauderdale area. She comes to the class with valuable experience as a parent of a young adult with ASD. We hope you will join us to explore yoga and meet new friends from the community.
