Youth Day is an Oakland Park tradition celebrating its 60th Anniversary in March 10, 2018. Catch waves of fun, excitement and youthful exuberance at Broward County's longest running parade leading into Oakland Park's 61st Annual Youth Day Celebration. Other activities include:

Youth Day Parade


This year's "Catch a Wave to the 60th Annual Youth Day... Cowabunga! Surf's Up at Oakland Park" themed youth parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. The parade starts on the south end of N.E. 12 Avenue and will travel North on N.E. 12 Avenue to N.E. 38 Street, west to N.E. 5 Avenue then north to Wimberly Field. There will be parade viewing areas with bleachers, as well as the judge's station and DJ in front of City Hall Oakland Park City Hall. Other popular viewing areas to bring your lawn chairs and bag to collect goodies tossed by parade participants include Stevens Field and the Richard E. Giusti Heart Parcours

Parade entries will be accepted until March 5, 2018. Just download the Parade Entry Form and follow the parade Guidelines detailed.

Youth Day Carnival


The family fun features amusement rides, stage shows, food and fireworks. Everyone is invited for a day of fun and excitement starting at 11:30 a.m. (all-day ride passes available). Enjoy a wide range of free entertainment from the Mai Kai performers, karate demonstrations, and musical acts.

Little Miss Oakland Park


Little Miss Oakland Park is for girls 4 to 7 years of age that represent Oakland Park. Contestants may not have been involved in any type of professional modeling prior to youth day. If you want your kids to participate download the Little Miss Oakland Park Registration Form and return it to the Parks and Leisure Services Department by 4:00 p.m. on March 6. Contest will be held at 1:45 p.m. on the carnival's main stage.
Flowers for the contest have been donated by Kathy's Florist.

Craft/Vendor Fair


Rental space for booths is available to individuals for the sale of handcrafter items or to promote local businesses. Electricity not available. Look through the Craft Fair Flyer for more details. To register contact Eric Waters at 954-630-4507 and submit the Craft Fair Registration Form.

Ride Armbands


Armbands for unlimited use of the rides at Youth Day will be available for sale at the Ethel M. Gordon Oakland Park Library, Collins Community Center, and Parks and Leisure Services office in City Hall starting Monday, March 1 through on Friday, March 10 for $15 each (cash).

Armbands can also be purchased the day of the event at the ticket booth for $20. Single ride tickets may also be purchased for $1. Rides include a 110 foot Fun Slide, Barrel of Fun, Cliff Hanger, Zero Gravity, Pharaoh's Fury, Wild one Obstacle Course, Rockin'Tug, Dragon Wagon and the Kiddie Car Adventure. Ticket booth will be open from 11:45 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Rides are subject to change).
